Green Light for KS1 Building

                                                                                                                  

            SPS has been given the thumbs up to create two extra classrooms to cater for the arrival of younger pupils to its ranks. 

 

            Members of Stafford Borough Council’s Local Development and Control Committee backed a £128,000 project to put up a 15metre long building and toilet block next to existing classrooms at Stafford Preparatory School. The venture comes in the wake of a recent decision by government inspectors to allow the  school to broaden its intake to include Year One and Two forms from September. 

 

The new flat roofed building, which will stand beside the playground, will be completed by Easter. Although older pupils will use the two classrooms over the next few months, from the autumn term they will house younger age groups as up to 30 children between the ages of five and seven join the school.

 

 “This is an important stage in the future development of the prep school. It has always been our intention to have Key Stage One provision at SPS and we are absolutely delighted that councillors have given us their approval. It’s an exciting time for us all,” said headmaster, Clive O’Donnell. “We are in the process of recruiting new pupils and there has already been a lot of interest,” he added.
