Sport

Stafford Preparatory School offers a comprehensive programme of physical education which embraces a wide range of activity for both boys and girls. The emphasis is on enjoyment, team spirit and the benefits of being physically fit.

During Stafford Prep’s first five years, the children have achieved some spectacular successes on the sporting front winning over forty trophies locally and nationally, including the ISA 5 a-side football tournament where regional winners from all over the country competed for the national title in Suffolk. The girls’ netball team has won the Stafford & District League & Cup double for the last four years. In July, 2011 the tag rugby team represented the West Midlands on Finals Day in the Tag to Twickenham competition.

We encourage children to participate in sport outside school as well as for our own teams. A number of children have been chosen to represent the county at cricket and hockey and others have played for Academy teams at Manchester United, Stoke City, Aston Villa,  Port Vale and Wolverhampton Wanderers.

All pupils have two weekly PE/Games sessions taken by specialist staff from Stafford Grammar and these are supplemented with a full programme of extra curricular clubs at lunchtime and after school.

Year 5 children go on a three day residential trip to one of the Kingswood Centres in North Wales and Year 6 pupils spend a week at Towers Outdoor Education Centre in Snowdonia.
